In 1973, our Chairman, Ian Denny Anderson started Versapak with a simple, reusable mailing pouch and security seal for safeguarding sensitive items during transport. The Versapak range of products became known for being durable, secure and cost effective, and was soon widely accepted by postal authorities, banks and medical organizations throughout the world.

1973

Versapak International Ltd was established and first small production facility was opened in Chislehurst, Kent.

1974

Versapak International changed name to The Versapak Group.
Moved to larger premises at 239 Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent and set up Injection Molding and Mailroom Equipment production in Brightlingsea Essex.

1975

Set up sales and manufacturing company in Canada serving local and US market.

1979

Formed Envelope Printing Company (EPC) selling millions of envelopes.

1980

1982

Moved to Upland Road, Bexleyheath.

1984

Purchased the largest allowed articulated double decked truck to collect and deliver envelopes for EPC from Germany.

1986

The first Anti-Doping kit was launched for the first Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

1987

Moved to larger premises in Crabtree Manor Way, Bexleyheath, Kent.

1990

1991

Moved to larger premises in Centurion Way, Erith, Kent.

1997

Purchased John Sharp Industries (manufacturer and supplier of security products).

2000

2001

Moved production to Europe to expand capabilities and compete in a more global market. Established Versapak Romania, located near Cluj-Napoca. A factory and sales office boasting state-of-the-art equipment that maximized production efficiency.

2002

Established Versapak GmbH to further expand our growing European operation and employed a dedicated team for German speaking countries.

2005

Purchased Bond Mailroom business to complement The Versapak Group.

2010

2011

Moved to new UK Headquarters, Erith, Kent.

2014

Granted a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen.

2016

Developed and patented the T2 security sealing system.

2019

Awarded the Planet Mark Certificate for commitment to sustainability.

2020

2020

Became a member of Made in Britain.

2021

Investment and installation of Engel - energy efficient injection moulding machine and started manufacturing security seals in the UK.

2023

Versapak celebrates 50 years of tamper evident excellence.
