Versapak medical carriers are manufactured with a padded insulating layer to provide hospitals, laboratories and other medical facilities a safe and convenient way to transport temperature-sensitive blood and pathology samples.

Our medical carriers have been tested in various Ambient temperatures tested and, together with heat sinks or freezer plates, can maintain a temperature between 2 and 8 degrees for an extended period of time. When used with a phase change material pack, our blood bags can maintain a temperature of 15-25 degrees for an extended period of time.

Versapak medical carriers listed below have been rigorously tested and verified as part of the manufacturing process, and their thermal capabilities have been certified by the world-renowned packaging testing organization TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH.

We have also tested our blood bags with 20 degree phase change material under two environmental conditions. The following tables provide guidance on performance:

Versapak blood in transport bag with 20 degree PCM packing has been tested to maintain a temperature of 15-25 degrees

Ambient temperature 10 degrees

Article Sample replacement (liters) (preconditioned to +4 degrees) Phase change material PCM preconditioning (24 hours) Placement Temperature limit Temperature held for
Versapak Small Blood Transport Bag (BLTD1) 2 x 0.5 liters of water 1 x 900g PCM 20°C 25°C Content then phase change material 15°C > 24 hours
Versapak Large Blood Transport Bag (BLTD2) 6 x 0.5 liters of water 1 x 900g PCM 20°C 25°C Content then phase change material 15°C 15 hours 29 minutes

Ambient temperature 30 degrees

Versapak Large Blood Transport Bag (BLTD2) 6 x 0.5 liters of water 1 x 900g PCM 20°C 10°C Content then phase change material 25°C > 24 hours

*All tests were started with a PCM package preconditioned at an ambient temperature of 10 degrees to 25 degrees for 24 hours and a PCM package preconditioned at an ambient temperature of 30 degrees to 10 degrees for 24 hours became. For a full copy of the review, click here.

The above is a guide. Changes can be made depending on the intended use and the desired result for your requirements.
