In the beginning, it was important for the company to be able to send employee information and other internal documents back and forth between its stores and offices. The employee documents contained sensitive salary information and other confidential data. They also wanted to be able to send advertising material back and forth between the individual shops, which involved scheduled deliveries and had to be treated confidentially. They planned to use their existing vans and drivers to transport such documents - so the system had to be simple and secure.
Versapak developed a bag with a double compartment and colour-coded, tamper-proof seals so that drivers could transport the material without having to pay attention to different types of information. The colour coding was also used to ensure that store managers knew whether the documents contained marketing material or personal, sensitive employee information.
