In 1973, our Chairman, Ian Denny Anderson, founded Versapak with a simple, reusable mailing bag and security seal to protect sensitive items in transit. Versapak's product range became known for its durability, safety and cost-effectiveness and was soon widely accepted by postal authorities, banks and medical organizations around the world.

1973
Versapak International Ltd was founded and the first small manufacturing facility was opened in Chislehurst, Kent.
1974
Versapak International changed its name to The Versapak Group. They moved to larger premises at 239 Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent and set up production of injection molds and mailroom equipment in Brightlingsea Essex.
1975
Established sales and production company in Canada to serve the local and US markets.
1979
Foundation of the Envelope Printing Company (EPC), selling millions of envelopes.
1980
1982
Moving to Upland Road, Bexleyheath.
1984
Bought the largest permitted double-decker tractor-trailer to collect and deliver envelopes for EPC from Germany.
1986
The first anti-doping kit was introduced for the first Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
1987
Moved to larger premises in Crabtree Manor Way, Bexleyheath, Kent.
1990
1991
Moving to larger premises in Centurion Way, Erith, Kent.
1997
Bought John Sharp Industries (manufacturer and supplier of security products).
2000
2001
Production moved to Europe to expand capabilities and compete in a more global market. Versapak Romania was founded near Cluj-Napoca. A factory and sales office with state-of-the-art equipment that maximizes production efficiency.
2002
Versapak GmbH was founded to further expand our growing European operations and a specialized team for German-speaking countries was hired.
2005
The Bond Mailroom business activities were acquired to complement the activities of the Versapak Group.
2010
2011
Moved to new headquarters in Erith, Kent, United Kingdom.
2014
Granted a royal appointment to Her Majesty the Queen.
2016
Developed and patented the safety locking system T2.
2019
Received the Planet Mark certificate for commitment to sustainability.
2020

Became a member of Made in Britain.
2021
Investment and installation of Engel - energy efficient injection molding machine and start of safety seal manufacturing in the UK.
2023
Versapak celebrates 50 years of outstanding tamper resistance.
